Greene County district court, week ending June 18

In Greene County district court Randolph Lee Glass, 55, of Rippey was sentenced June 16 to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. He was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $600 and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Samantha Isabel Menjivar, 20, of Coon Rapids was sentenced to 30 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended training at her own expense. Menjivar was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if she obtains a temporary restricted license. She must pay an amount not to exceed $600 as restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $156.78. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Katarina Nichole Stilson, 23, of Paton was sentenced to 30 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. The jail term was suspended and she was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. Stilson was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge. The court found her unable to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $140. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Jay Allen Alexander, 58, of Boone, gambling- false claim of winnings; Shari Ann Allen, 62, of Grand Junction, driving while license revoked; Travis Austin Smith, 30, of Churdan, driving while license barred; and Taylor Jayde Kelly, 29, of Lake City, operating while intoxicated and possess/carry dangerous weapon while under influence. Trial dates were set for Aug. 24 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Julie Renae Eslinger, 39, of Boone has been charged with burglary- third degree. The warrant was issued Jan. 18 and returned June 15.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Jonah Van Khua Lian, 40, of Clive, operating while intoxicated; and Shane Franklin Clark, 41, of Paton ,domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness.
